Abstract This article analyses Avicenna's ?ayaw?n III, 1, which deals with the well-known disagreement between physicians and philosophers on origination of blood vessels (arteries veins) nerves. However, proposed analysis is not limited to this chapter its main topic. The more general purpose reconstruct psycho-medical context in exposition lies, that is, soul's oneness consequent conditions for body ensoulment (i. e. need a primary, unitary attachment through heart cardiac pneuma). then outlines strategy Avicenna presents medical positions (heart, brain, liver are all an equal footing) challenge his (and Aristotle's) anatomical model, coherent theory soul. In connection, firstly, shows how takes physicians’ arguments apart philosophical (he usually points at their logical shortcomings). Then, it clarifies contribution anatomy determine and, ultimately, reconcile practice truths, if be.
